CALL FOR PAPERS:We are pleased to report that the IMDC committee has received over 70 abstracts and preliminary acceptance letters will be going out on Friday November 19. We are very confident that the final technical program will be of the high quality that has previously marked International Marine Design Conferences. We extend our very sincere thanks to all the authors who submitted abstracts.

We do admit that mistakes sometimes happen. If you submitted an abstract but do not receive a reply from us by Monday November 22, please contact us. In the electronic age it seems that items go missing "in the mail" even more than they did in the paper age.

In the coming weeks we will post a list of accepted papers.

IMDC 2022 will be the latest in the series of triennial conferences, which commenced in 1982 in London. The aim of these longstanding triennial conferences is to promote all aspects of marine design as an engineering discipline. The focus for 2022 will be upon the design challenges and opportunities in current maritime technologies and markets, with special emphasis on:

  • Design of new Shipboard Technologies and how they will modify the Ship Design process (this includes specifically work being done on Ship RF systems integrated into ship design)

  • How societal developments have and will further modify the way in which “ship design” is practiced

  • How teaching marine design is changing

  • The impact of the no crew onboard driver is changing ship design

  • How Human-Centric Design modifies the Ship Design Process

There are intended to be a series of Keynote papers presented and the on-going feature of IMDCs is presentation and discussion of State of Art Reports on key issues, such as Design Methodology and Design for X, in plenary sessions as well streamed presentation of papers on the topics of current marine design issues and cutting edge research.
